Pigg. is a Swedish word that means the feeling of being alert or lively.

Pigg. is a fully mobile wood fired Scandinavian sauna which will travel from site to site across Scotland along side three ice cold plunge pods.

Inspired by cold water swimming in the Hebrides on the Isle of Tiree, cold plunging is a wonderful practice. The feeling of alertness and endorphin release after a cold dip sealed the name Pigg. Add in the relaxing heat of the sauna and you get to the heat, dip, repeat routine that we love at Pigg. and want to share.

The health benefits of sauna and cold water immersion are extensive and well documented. Simply creating a space to allow others to enjoy this practice was our driver.  As a lifelong west end resident, adding and giving back to our local community is important as well as to the island community on Tiree where we have spent so many family summers. 

Initially, Pigg. will be based at Hillhead Sports Club in the heart of Glasgow’s West End. 

Hillhead Sports Club is a great partner for our first pop-up. Located in Hughenden, in the heart of Glasgow’s west end, HSC has been around since 1924 and supports so many sports activities from cricket, rugby, tennis, pilates, ultimate frisbee, to general wellbeing. It also has a café on site for locals and visitors to enjoy. As such it was the perfect parter for Pigg.

Pigg. is a fully mobile wood fire sauna that seats 8 people.  After an initial stay at Hughenden, Pigg. is heading to the beautiful Hebridean island of Tiree for the summer months. You’ll find us on one of the many glorious beaches there. If you are interested in private hires in other locations please message us as we’d love to help if access is possible.

For now we hope you can come down and check out Pigg. at its new site at Hillhead Sports Club. The sauna looks out over the main pitch beside the stand.
